ONE OF THESE DAYS

One of these days
I’m gonna fall so hard it’s gonna take the wind right out of my chest
One of these days
We’re gonna find a fire burning bright, & set our soul ablaze
We’re gonna light a spark that sends us flying into outer space
One of these days

One of these days
We’re gonna find a place where there’s no shame, no guilt no doubt
One of these days
We’ll be children laughing in a playground I will hear that sound
One of these days
We’re gonna find the meaning of it all and then we’ll lose control
One of these days
One of these days

Beauty is a fall
Beauty is a call
Beauty is an old tree standing tall
Beauty is a high
Beauty is a lie
Beauty is where we go when we die
Beauty isn’t sweet
Beauty is a beast
it’s a kiss on a busy street
And one of these days
One of these days
We’re gonna feel alive again

There’s no time to waste
We’re gonna find the strength to face the elements that held us back
make my heart race
Like thunder in an open field and raging winds when they attack
We’ll find a way
We’re gonna walk on mountains we have always been afraid to climb
One of these days
One of these days

Beauty is a laugh
Beauty is a cry
Beauty is a shiver running up a spine
Beauty can’t be sold
Beauty isn’t gold
It’s big and brave and bold
Beauty is a new day
Running far away
Not thinking ‘bout the price that you have to pay
Cos one of these days
One of these days
We’re gonna feel alive again

TOWER BRIDGE ROAD

I’m sitting at a window over Tower Bridge Road
wishing you were somewhere here
not stuck away at home
Still looking for a place, a house, a flat
to call our own
Believe me I am trying to keep it all under control.

Already getting used to morning traffic on the bus
I don’t know why I’m always late
Preachers make a fuss
Already getting used to summer rain and thick grey clouds
but I could not get used to not
having you around.

And I don’t wanna sleep
without you anymore
I cannot wait to hold you

‘Cos I know that
at the end of the day
When times get rough
and life gets in the way
you’re with me, I’m not alone
You’re the place that I call home

I miss you like a flower
misses spring in winter rain
I miss you like a sailor misses love
he hopes remains
I miss you every minute, every hour
every day
I need you love I need you here,
I know you understand

And I don’t wanna sleep
without you anymore
I cannot wait to hold you

‘Cos I know that
at the end of the day
When times get rough
and life gets in the way
you’re with me, I’m not alone

‘Cos I know that
at the end of the day
you’re with me, I’m not alone
You’re the place that I call home

THE LIGHTHOUSE

Fell in love with a Lighthouse
at the edge of Dublin Bay
I promised you that we would
move into it Someday

You’d feed all the sea lions
I’d write songs about the sea
and all the Fishermen
Floating ‘round precariously

Ohh Oh Ooh

But we’re not living in the lighthouse
We’re living on a bridge that we cannot sustain
And all the visions that we had
Washed away by the bleach of reality
Oh The lighthouse will always be
 Just a distant memory

My winter jacket’s button
is hanging by a thread
the lighthouse that was in our head
well it no longer stands

I wish I could start over
somewhere on the cliffs of dover
I heard that there’s a lighthouse
that an old man wants to sell

But we’re not living in the lighthouse
We’re living on a bridge that we cannot sustain
And all the visions that we had
Washed away by the bleach of reality

The lighthouse will always be
Just a distant memory

HOPE

Hear the howling wind of Hope
raise your sails and pray you’ll go as far
as any eye can see

but those who wait around for Hope
will be let down and left to float alone
amidst an open sea

I’m losing her
I’m losing her
but Hope, I'll see you again

Winter comes and winter goes
Autumn leaves conceal the dusty floors
where summer used to sing

Springtime seems so far away
so far away yet Hope’s the only friend
I thought would always stay

and I’m losing her
I’m losing her

I’m losing you
I’m losing you
I’m losing you

Slowly drifting out,
I looked around and saw I’ve been taking on water
but I never realised till now that

I’m losing you
I’m losing you
I’m losing you

Hear the howling wind of Hope
raise your sails and pray you’ll go as far
as any eye can see
